Celebrate the best Portuguese cuisine in the first-ever Portugal Restaurant Week in California, which will take place from 22-28 April.
Portugal Restaurant Week is a week-long celebration of Portugal's gastronomy and vibrant food culture. After the success of last year's edition, which was focused only in the San Francisco Bay Area, the 2024 edition will bring together eight Portuguese restaurants in California (Bay Area and Los Angeles), where diners can enjoy special prix fixe menus and indulge in the finest Portuguese food and wine.
Influenced by the fresh flavors and ingredients of the Mediterranean, Portugal's cuisine is rich and varied and offers unique dishes that you won't find anywhere else in the world.
Since no part of Portugal is far from the ocean, seafood is among the country's most popular delicacies. Beyond the famous sardines and salt-dried cod (known as Bacalhau), other typical dishes include roasted octopus, seafood stews and cataplanas, and locally caught shellfish - simple yet impeccably prepared ingredients, always dressed with the fruity and delicious taste of Portuguese olive oil.
