Portuguese company presented solutions developed in Portugal to support the decarbonisation and digitalisation of the maritime sector at SMM 2026 in Hamburg, one of the world’s leading maritime industry events.
The company showcased Portuguese engineering and technological expertise, highlighting solutions designed to address the sector’s growing need to reduce emissions, improve operational efficiency and accelerate digital transformation.
One of the highlights was the presentation of the results of a decarbonisation programme implemented across 13 vessels using the BioHFO solution. The initiative demonstrates the application of Portuguese technology to real-world maritime operations and to the industry’s environmental challenges.
TecnoVeritas also officially launched VERA – Voyage Emissions Reporting Assistant, a digital solution designed to support emissions reporting for maritime voyages. The launch reflects the company’s focus on developing technology to support environmental monitoring and more informed decision-making in the sector.
Another highlight was a workshop organised in partnership with ABB, focusing on the European COLOSSUS project and the future of autonomous maritime operations. The session addressed technological developments in the industry and the opportunities associated with automation and digitalisation.
Participation in SMM 2026 strengthened TecnoVeritas’ international visibility and provided an opportunity to showcase Portuguese technology and expertise to an international maritime audience.
