Portugal’s investment potential and economic ties with the United States were highlighted by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro during an event at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York on 22 September.
The initiative was held as part of Montenegro’s visit to the United States for the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. It brought together representatives of Portuguese and US companies, investors, lawyers and other business stakeholders, providing an opportunity for networking and business contacts between the two markets.
During his intervention, Luís Montenegro stressed the importance of investment and stronger economic relations between Portugal and the United States. He presented Portugal as an economy open to international investment and with potential for developing new business opportunities.
The Prime Minister also addressed Portugal’s economic performance and the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with the United States.
Following the event, Montenegro joined the Closing Bell ceremony on the NYSE trading floor, highlighting Portugal’s economic presence and visibility in the US market.
