Portugal-based garment manufacturer Petratex and fabric developer Eurojersey have joined forces on Optical Motion, a project that has debuted with a capsule collection of cycling apparel and aims to pave the way for new product development models.
For the collection, the partners selected different textile structures and positioned them according to the needs of the body and movement. These include mesh fabrics to enhance ventilation, structured surfaces to optimise aerodynamics, and high-density fabrics to provide support, stability and comfort over long distances.
Optical Motion is based on an integrated approach that treats fabric and garment as parts of the same creative and development process, rather than as separate elements.
The companies intend to expand the partnership through a joint service supporting brands from the definition of performance objectives to the development of finished products.
