The congresses held in Lisbon attracted more than 100,000 international participants, mainly in the medical, technological and scientific fields.
Of the 356 congresses counted in Portugal for the 2025 ranking , more than half were held in Lisbon, in the MICE segment (business tourism and professional events), which includes congresses, meetings and exhibitions.
The International Congress and Convention Association's ranking only counts international congresses and meetings that meet specific criteria, including being held regularly, rotating between at least three countries or territories and having a minimum attendance of 50 people in person.
