A Portuguese company will be responsible for connecting clinical data on more than 70 million people across Europe and now also in Brazil.
The entry of Promptly Health into the Latin American market was confirmed on Thursday, after the Portuguese company, which specialises in building federated health data platforms, announced the integration of Hapvida NotreDame Intermédica, one of the largest healthcare groups in Latin America.
The deal makes it possible to integrate the Brazilian market, which in practice means that data on more than 16 million beneficiaries will become accessible through the platform.
At present, the company explains, the technology allows hospitals and health systems to share knowledge and information without transferring sensitive clinical data. In this way, researchers and authorised organisations can gain access to clinical information securely and in line with regulations, without institutions such as hospitals and other healthcare units losing control over the data they generate.
