Vodafone has selected Portugal as the location for its new Global Cyber Centre – Lisbon (GCC), a strategic cybersecurity hub designed to strengthen the protection and resilience of the Group's operations, networks, systems and customers worldwide.
The new centre will enhance Vodafone's ability to anticipate, detect and respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, supporting the security of its digital infrastructure and reinforcing customer trust across its global operations.
Based in Lisbon, the Global Cyber Centre represents a long-term investment by the Vodafone Group and reinforces Portugal's position as a growing hub for cybersecurity expertise and technological innovation. The decision reflects the country's highly qualified talent pool and dynamic technology ecosystem.
The Lisbon hub will join Vodafone's existing global cybersecurity network, which already includes centres in the United Kingdom, Germany, Romania and India. Initially, the centre will employ around 40 specialists, with recruitment already under way through Vodafone's careers platform.
The new teams will work closely with cybersecurity experts across Vodafone's international operations, covering areas including security strategy and architecture, secure software development, risk management, infrastructure protection, threat monitoring and incident response.
The centre will also focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum security, helping Vodafone prepare for the next generation of cybersecurity challenges while supporting innovation across the Group.
