Portuguese startup dotmoovs has developed a digital platform that uses artificial intelligence and blockchain to make the discovery and recognition of sporting talent more accessible, transparent and global.
An athlete may be based in a remote village in Africa, a small European town or an urban neighbourhood in Latin America. Using nothing more than a smartphone, they can showcase their skills, enter competitions, receive technical assessments and gain exposure to coaches, clubs and sponsors.
The platform addresses some of the sector's key challenges, including limited access to talent identification opportunities, subjective performance assessment and the lack of reliable, merit-based systems for recognising sporting potential.
By uploading videos recorded on a smartphone, athletes can take part in AI-powered challenges and competitions. The technology analyses technical performance and generates objective, comparable rankings.
The platform already features automated judging systems for disciplines including Dance, Freestyle Football and Boxing, enabling talent to be identified and recognised regardless of geographical location.
