Portuguese technology company Tekever has unveiled the AR6, a new autonomous heavy-lift drone capable of carrying payloads of up to 200kg over distances exceeding 500 kilometres, marking the company's entry into the growing autonomous logistics market.
The new platform was officially presented at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in the UK and has been designed to support both defence and civilian operations, including logistics, emergency response, humanitarian aid and critical infrastructure support.
The AR6 combines long-range autonomous flight with significant payload capacity, addressing the increasing demand for resilient, unmanned transport solutions. The aircraft is expected to strengthen Europe's capabilities in advanced aerospace technologies while supporting more flexible and sustainable logistics operations.
According to Tekever, the AR6 is part of a broader strategy to expand its portfolio beyond intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, for which the company has already established a strong international reputation.
Production of the new aircraft will take place at Tekever's facility in Swindon, United Kingdom, with manufacturing expected to begin later this year in collaboration with a network of British suppliers.
