Midalpa is preparing to double production capacity and expand into Belgium as the company strengthens its international footprint.
According to Portuguese business publication Jornal Económico, 75% of the manufacturer's output is currently exported, underlining strong overseas demand for Portuguese-made furniture and bespoke engineering solutions.
Founded by Patrícia Gaspar, Miguel Fernandes and Daniel Tinoco, the business specialises in made-to-order furniture, technical carpentry and decorative joinery, combining design capability with industrial production expertise.
Established export markets already include France, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. Belgium is set to become the next target market as the company scales operations.
Patrícia Gaspar said technical precision and delivery reliability remain key drivers of competitiveness, adding that the Portuguese manufacturing label continues to be highly regarded abroad.
The announcement reflects continued momentum for Portugal's furniture and interiors sector, where export-focused manufacturers are leveraging craftsmanship, flexible production and value positioning to win contracts across Europe. For MIDALPA, increased capacity suggests confidence in sustained cross-border demand despite broader economic uncertainty.
