Ocean elected “Restaurant of the Year”, Algarve, Portugal - Portuguese Joana Reis distinguished as “Sommelier of the Year”.

Ocean, at Vila Vita Parc in Porches (Lagoa) in the Algarve, with two Michelin stars and headed by chef Hans Neuner, won the “Restaurant of the Year” award at the “Best of the Year 2024” awards by Revista de Vinhos.
For her part, Joana Reis, the head sommelier from the Algarve restaurant Avenida, in Lagos, was distinguished as “Sommelier of the Year”.

Winemaker João Nicolau de Almeida, who spent 40 years working for Ramos Pinto before launching the family project at Quinta do Monte Xisto, also in the Douro, was elected “Personality of the Year in Wine”, in recognition of the unique work he has done in that region over the last few decades.
