Portuguese defence technology company Beyond Vision has been selected by Japan's Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) for its Counter-UAS Proof of Concept Programme, with the company's BVQ404 interceptor drone ranked as the top-priority solution for evaluation.
The BVQ404 is a compact, high-performance interceptor drone designed to rapidly detect and neutralise hostile unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Engineered for speed, agility and operational reliability, it provides an effective last line of defence against fast-moving aerial threats while maintaining a low logistical footprint.
The system will be assessed under ATLA's Early Acquisition Programme by the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), an initiative aimed at accelerating the evaluation and deployment of advanced counter-drone technologies. While several international companies are participating in the programme, the BVQ404 achieved the highest evaluation score, making it ATLA's first-priority platform for demonstration.
The selection by Japan's Ministry of Defense marks a significant milestone for Beyond Vision, reinforcing the company's international reputation and strengthening its position in the global defence technology market.
Beyond Vision is showcasing the BVQ404 at the Farnborough International Airshow, where visitors can learn more about the system's advanced counter-UAV capabilities.
