The Portuguese Oncology Institute of Coimbra will invest €11.6 million in heavy medical equipment and a robotic surgical system, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Under the government order, an expenditure of €11.59 million, plus VAT, has been approved to strengthen the unit's oncology diagnostic and treatment capacity.
This investment is within the scope of the National Health Service technological modernisation programme, launched to reinforce public healthcare and manage weaknesses exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
