Tekever, the Portuguese company that builds drones, some of which have defence applications, is to open a base in Swindon in the UK through its French subsidiary in Toulouse, France.
It will be the fourth unit that the company has opened in Europe so far.
“The deadlines are in line with what was presented at Choose France 2025 in May last year in Paris, when we announced the investment of €100 million over five years and the hiring of 100 highly qualified staff,” an official Tekever source told the news source ECO/eRadar after having been asked if there had been a speedup of the deadlines for investment in France at its Cahors unit.
“Right now Tekever France has around 40 staff” said the same source and we’ll be opening a new office in Toulouse, and apart from the Cahors factory we’re looking to open a test and training centre close to the Atlantic coast in the region of Aquitaine.”
Announced in May last year during the Choose France event, promoted by President Macron, the Cahors complex is 4,500 square meters and is currently being prepared to host the production of drones.
