Portugal’s tech company Tekever is one of the companies selected to help the British armed forces to design a new generation drone that will support Apache helicopters in attack missions.
Tekever has been invited to present a design project for futuristic drones that will support Apache attack helicopters in future battles.
The NYX project paves the way for the defence sector to collaborate with the British army to develop Unmanned Air Systems (drones) that can support the helicopters in various tasks when the are in action.
This support includes reconnaissance and scouting in disputed areas, in the attack and acquisition of targets, and in electric warfare operations.
The drones will be supported by artificial intelligence in taking independent decisions that can be adjusted in complex situations on the battlefield within the parameters of the mission.
The goal is to increase the efficiency of missions, at the same time reducing risk and the logistical load of systems operated by humans.
