Quidgest, a multinational software firm based in Lisbon, has announced the next edition of the Quidgest Observatory. According to a statement, this edition, entitled “AI, autonomous agents and organizational impact” will seek to investigate the role of AI agents in businesses globally. In this context, it will focus on topics such as governance, responsibility, system autonomy, interoperability, data sovereignty and real world business impacts, among other aspects. Individuals and organizations from all countries can take part in the study by anonymously completing a survey, which takes around ten minutes, by the deadline of March 31. The results of the study are expected to be published in the first half of 2026.
With this study, Quidgest is seeking to grasp the extent to which the AI transformation has progressed in Portugal and worldwide, in addition to contributing to a well-informed public debate. “We are greatly committed to developing this Observatory project with a strong sense of responsibility, with the aim of understanding developments on the ground, empowering more informed decision-making processes and sparking a discussion that goes beyond technology – this discussion shapes how we design, trust, delegate tasks to and manage increasingly autonomous systems”, as Quidgest CEO Cristina Marinhas explains in the statement.
The first edition of the Quidgest Observatory previously focused on the impact of AI on the digital transformation. According to Marinhas, AI has now become a core topic for executives, entrepreneurs, professionals and students on a cross-sector basis. The next step involves analyzing the conditions that would allow an acceptable, safe and effective deployment of AI agents.
