Portuguese exports from the two-wheeler industry reached €777.1 million in 2025 , setting a new historical high and surpassing the previous record achieved in 2022, according to provisional data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) processed by ABIMOTA - the National Association of Industries of Two Wheelers, Hardware, Furniture and Complementary Activities.
The data show a recovery after two years of adjustment, confirming the resilience and competitiveness of the sector in international markets.
Recent evolution of exports:
- 2021: 595.1 million euros
- 2022: 772.2 million euros - a record high to date.
- 2023: 760.0 million euros
- 2024: 745.3 million euros
- 2025: €777.1 million - a new all-time high
After the significant growth recorded in 2022 (+29.77% compared to 2021), two years of slight reduction followed, with the sector resuming its upward trajectory in 2025, with growth of 4.26% compared to 2024 .
Consistent performance throughout the year.
Monthly data shows solid performance in 2025, with several months exceeding the values recorded in the previous year, notably:
- July: 87.5 million euros
- May: 82.2 million euros
- September: 78.0 million euros
The sector maintains its strategic relevance.
The results confirm the importance of the Portuguese two-wheeler industry as a relevant export sector and its ability to adapt to a demanding international context.
According to Gil Nadais, Secretary-General of ABIMOTA , the new historical high reflects the merit and capability of the companies in the sector:
