This webinar is dedicated to SMEs in the apparel and textile sector, universities, R&D institutes, and fashion designers, bringing together innovators, researchers, and industry professionals to explore the extended producer responsibility (EPR) recently adopted by the EU Parliament.
The aim is to increase the reuse and recycling of textiles, reduce waste and create more circular flows. Producers will be held responsible for the full life cycle of textile products e.g. clothes, shoes, curtains, blankets and bed linen. The EPR is based on the “polluter pays” principle and social responsibility, meaning the directive reinforces the principle that the producer of the product should also bear the cost of its environmental impact when it becomes waste.
This knowledge will equip you with practical information about how to tackle the implementation of EPR in the European Union.
