The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) and the Portuguese Port of Sines (Administração dos Portos de Sines e do Algarve) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster collaboration in developing sustainable, green, and digital logistic corridors.
The partnership leverages historical and economic ties between Namibia and Portugal to drive connectivity, trade, and investment.
The MoU is aligned with the European Commission’s Global Gateway initiative to mobilize N$5823 billion (€300 billion) in investment for smart, clean, and secure connections in the energy, transport, and digital sectors.
The Port of Sines is positioned as a key European logistics hub under this initiative, given its natural characteristics and geostrategic location.
