KEENFINITY Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) is setting the course for future growth: the plant in Ovar, Portugal, is being expanded in size, skills and scope to pursue new market opportunities. EMS aims to double the plant’s sales volume in the next five years and to create highly skilled jobs, increasing the workforce beyond the current 1,100 employees.
Last Friday marked a strategic milestone with the inauguration of a building extension at the Ovar plant. The event also featured the closing ceremony of an Innovation Program conducted in collaboration with Porto University and INL, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory. The ceremony was attended by Portugal’s Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, Ovar’s Mayor, Domingos Silva, and Secretary of State for the Economy, João Rui Ferreira, underscoring the plant’s significance for the region’s R&D ecosystem and economic development.
