The Portuguese company was responsible for manufacturing the 10 panels that make up the KC-390 fuselage. When these parts are ready, they are sent to Brazil to the Embraer plant in Javio Peixoto, where final assembly of the aircraft takes place.
Portugal stands out when it comes to the KC-390, as it became the first international country to purchase the Brazilian military cargo ship. The agreement between the two countries was signed in August 2019, a month before the delivery of the first 28 KC-390 aircraft to the FAB at ALA 2 in Annapolis. Currently, the FAF already has two aircraft used by the first GTT.
The KC-390, also known as the C-390 Millenium, also has other international partners, such as Argentina and the Czech Republic, and whenever possible the aircraft is part of major air shows around the world, such as FIDAE, Chile, Paris and Dubai.
Portugal is the main international partner of the KC-390 program and it is recognized that its participation in the development and production of the aircraft has had a positive economic impact on job creation, new investment, increased exports and technological progress.
