The Técnico Solar Boat University Project, led by a team from Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon), won second place out of a total of 48 participants in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, a competition aimed at electric boats powered by renewable energy and organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco.
"It is with great pride that we have the opportunity to represent Portugal and the Instituto Superior Técnico once again in this competition of great importance for the promotion of electric mobility and renewable energies," said Miguel Gil, team leader of the Técnico Solar Boat, quoted in a statement.
"We remain committed to demonstrating the excellence and innovation that characterises our team, and this is just another step on what is an exciting path for Técnico Solar Boat, as we set ever more ambitious goals for a sustainable future," adds Miguel Gil.
