Brazilian agricultural group Wirstchat is expanding internationally with its first European factory in Vendas Novas, Alentejo. Operating under the brand Harvest Agro, the plant will begin production in December 2026, supplying specialty fertilizers and crop protection products to the European market. Its strategic location offers direct access to key routes between Portugal and Spain, ensuring efficient distribution across the continent.

Space Forge launches EU expansion with an office in Portugal

Space Forge, a British aerospace manufacturing company, based in Wales, has opened a presence on the island of Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, by establishing a satellite return location. Its location in the Azores – whose geographic positioning makes it an ideal return location for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions – creates new opportunities for high-frequency satellite return operations and regional partnerships.
LD Helmet inaugurates factory in Portugal

LD Helmet, owned by the Swiss manufacturer of aeronautical helmets LD Switzerland, has inaugurated a new production facility in Ponte de Sor, Portugal. The Ponte de Sor unit currently employs 18 professionals, with plans to grow the team to over 25 by the end of 2026.

Siemens in Corroios celebrates 30 years of innovation

The Siemens factory in Corroios marks 30 years of operation in 2025. Founded in 1995, it initially produced electrical panels, but pivoted in 2019 to focus on DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, becoming a leader in e-Mobility. With over 280 employees and a capacity to produce 3,000 units annually, Siemens' Corroios plant solutions are deployed in over 30 countries, including electric bus chargers in Portugal and ultra-fast charging points for light vehicles.

Microsat, a Chinese satellite development agency, in collaboration with Portuguese universities, will launch an Aerospace and Oceanic Industry Excellence Laboratory in Valença do Minho, called STARLAB. The laboratory will focus on developing technologies for space exploration and sustainable oceanic energy and is expected to foster innovation, support tech startups, and generate highly skilled jobs.

Google announced the SOL transatlantic subsea cable system, linking the U.S., Bermuda, the Azores, and Spain. Complementing the existing Nuvem cable, Sol highlights the strategic role of the Azores as a key hub for digital connectivity between Europe and North America.
