Universidade do Porto is preparing to launch UPorto4Life to help professionals update skills, gain new certifications and transition into new fields.
The project will be based at the renovated Abel Salazar Building, following an investment of more than €11 million.
The first programmes, focused on health, science and engineering, are expected to begin in late 2026.
According to Professor António de Sousa Pereira, “It is essential that Portugal creates the habit of returning to university midway through professional careers, to update knowledge and renew certifications.”
