In March, the number of guests grew by more than 30% compared to last year and overnight stays rose by almost 27%, surpassing “for the first time, 5 million”, while income from tourist accommodation establishments grew by 45.1%, to 338 million euros, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In the third month of this year, there were 2.1 million guests and 5.1 million overnight stays in the country, which corresponds to an increase of 30.8% and 26.7% compared to March 2022, respectively. "Like what happened in the first two months of the year, also in March the maximum values of overnight stays were reached since there is a record, having been exceeded, for the first time, the 5 million mark in this month", highlights the statistics office.
