The third edition of the magazine Houses of Portugal - Value & Style has just come out with another set of themes that show the excellence and quality of what is currently produced in the real estate and construction materials sectors in our country.

In this edition, the highlight goes to the interview with António Ricardo Oliveira, administrator of OLI, a brand of sanitary products, which was born 67 years ago, which is currently present in the bathrooms of some emblematic buildings in the five continents.

 

Henrique Polignac de Barros is the highlighted Mr. Real Estate of this edition, a man with a dreamy spirit, with a great desire to create, who was the mentor and one of the founders of APPII - Real Estate Developers and Investors Association, in 1991, whose presidency he held for three decades, until very recently.

 

Houses of Portugal went to the border village of Vila Nova de Cerveira, to discover the historic and welcoming Boega Hotel which occupies a 17th century manor house, surrounded by large gardens and enjoying a magnificent panoramic view over the River Minho.

 

In the city of Porto, we highlight the renovation of the centenary Palacete Campos Navarro, one of the most impressive examples of the period of romantic architecture in Porto, transformed into the elegant Torel Palace Porto hotel.

 

In this edition, the residential project highlighted is the luxurious building Castilho 203, one of the most luxurious residential developments in Lisbon, and whose media success surrounding the property was mainly due to the purchase of the “penthouse” with an outdoor pool by Cristiano Ronaldo, Portuguese football player.

 

The rehabilitation of the emblematic Mercado do Bolhão, whose reopening is scheduled for this year and which will continue as a market of fresh food, was also the opportunity to meet Nuno Valentim, the architect responsible for the project, but who already has a vast amount of projects carried out throughout the country.

 

In culture, we speak of Serralves, in Porto, where we highlight the Casa do Cinema Manoel de Oliveira, which integrates, in a coherent way, with all the built heritage of this beautiful space, but also with the Treetop Walk, a walkway next to the treetops, designed by architect Carlos Castanheira, in collaboration with architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, which is worth a visit.

 

In Lisbon, the highlight goes to the Berardo - Arte Déco Museum (B-MAD), dedicated mainly to Art Nouveau and Art Deco objects by this Madeiran entrepreneur, including recent acquisitions.

 

The project for the recovery, rehabilitation and conservation of the Roman Thermal Spa building in S. Pedro do Sul, involving an investment of over 1.8 million euros, deserved our attention, considering that they are the main spa resort of Portugal and one of the largest in the Iberian Peninsula.

 

In building materials, we focused on BMI - Flat and Pitched Roofing Systems, at a time when the world is looking for sustainable development models in the construction sector.

 

The highlight is also the Covet Group, a creative and revolutionary company, made up of a team of excellence that fights day by day to conquer the world through design.

 

Houses of Portugal: Value & Style:

The publication of the magazine - with paper edition and in digital version - with free distribution, is one of the activities included in the communication and marketing component of the project, with the same name, Houses of Portugal: Value & Style, 2019-2021, which is intended to boost exports of Real Estate and Construction Materials, strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in the national market.

 

Developed by the Portuguese Association of Construction Materials Traders (APCMC) and by the Association of Professionals and Real Estate Mediation Companies of Portugal (APEMIP), the project aims to promote architecture, engineering, quality of construction materials and above all, show the advantages of investing in Portugal.
