The Cypriot company relied on Frotcom's features to reduce fuel consumption and effectively monitor its fleet of vehicles and drivers.

Established in 2004, SMC Joint Venture (SMC JV) is a Cypriot company providing electrical and mechanical maintenance services. The company currently carries out several projects of this nature, mainly in the British Forces of Cyprus and the Republic of Cyprus. SMC JV was looking for a fleet management system that could: monitor the activities in its work site, ensure the safety of its employees and assess their workload.

Frotcom was the chosen solution to meet these needs, and today the specialist maintenance contractors company has more than 250 vehicles equipped with Frotcom.

Moreover, since the company has a strict policy concerning personal data, SMC JV was looking for a solution to ensure full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policy. For this purpose, the company currently employs an assigned Data Protection Officer, who is responsible for processing all data provided by Frotcom reports and sending it to the Management Team, allowing SMC JV to make appropriate decisions concerning their fleet and personnel.

With Frotcom’s Driving behavior analysis and Route planning and monitoring, the company can now monitor its drivers' activities and workload more efficiently and ensure their safety while on the road. In addition, by combining these features with Frotcom’s Fleet alarms, the company can now also guarantee the safe usage of its vehicles while driving.

Lastly, by assessing the trips taken, SMC JV was able to suggest new routes to drivers and reduce its fleet's fuel consumption. According to Nicos Tzirtzipis, General Manager of SMC Joint Venture, the company also reduced fuel costs by approximately 35% as the vehicles are no longer used for personal trips.

Ultimately, SMC Joint Venture achieved its fleet management goals through Frotcom's features and the service and support provided, significantly reducing fuel costs and improving its ability to monitor all fleet activities.
