The Viseu hub will develop and implement solutions that take advantage of Microsoft Dynamics365 and the Microsoft Power Platform. The technology-orientated Hub Azure Apps&Infra joins this hub at the University of Minho's Azurém Campus (Guimarães). This focuses on specialised advisory services, the design and implementation of Azure cloud architectures, and their operation.
This is yet another step in the company's commitment to its partnership with Microsoft by creating specialised teams that extend the Microsoft Centres of Excellence that NTT DATA already has in Portugal. These structures enrich the company's capabilities in developing organisational and technological transformation projects for both national and international clients through teams with their own identities, differentiated and multidisciplinary.
These two units will take advantage of the proximity of local higher education institutions to attract, retain and develop talent, but also to accelerate innovation using Microsoft technologies. In the case of the Azure Apps&Infra Hub, the focus will be on creating job opportunities, not only for students from the University of Minho but also from other institutions in the Braga and Porto districts. As for the Microsoft Business Applications Hub, the preferred relationship will be with the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu
Creating these Specific Knowledge hubs is part of NTT DATA EMEAL's growth strategy - of which the Portuguese subsidiary is a part - which aims to double its turnover by 2025, from the current 3 billion euros to 6 billion euros (the region's turnover). In Portugal, this ambition is reflected in the expansion of the company's activities to other parts of the country, the strengthening of its teams and an even more intense commitment to developing specialised talent through reskilling and upskilling. This is also reflected in the expansion of the company's digital laboratory so that researchers and students can join customers and NTT DATA in experimenting and co-creating innovative solutions.
In addition to Viseu and Guimarães, NTT DATA already has ten active hubs in eight locations - Braga, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Évora, Guarda, Óbidos, Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia - as well as its headquarters in Lisbon.
