Under the terms of the agreement the aircraft will be manufactured using the facilities, financial resources and workforce of the Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry Co. (HEAI) partnership, which started operating in 2002.
The first aircraft built by HEAI is expected to be delivered at the end of 2013.
Embraer has been in China since 2000 when it opened a representative office in Beijing, and in June 2010, because a growing client base, set up its first subsidiary in the country, Embraer (China) Aircraft Technical Services Co., focused on after sales services.
So far Embraer has 154 confirmed orders in the Chinese market, with 116 aircraft that have been delivered. In China Embraer has a 78 percent share of the regional aviation market.
The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (Avic) was founded in November 2008 following restructuring and consolidation of the China Aviation Industry Corporation I (Avic I) and the China Aviation Industry Corporation II (Avic II).
Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry Co. Was established in December 2002 under the terms of a partnership agreement between Embraer and the China Aviation Industry Corporation II (Avic II), with a view to producing ERJ145 jet aircraft in China.
