The meeting started with the opening speech given by Rosanna D’Amario, Policy officer of European Commission, and Hicham Abghay, Steinbeis 2i GmbH, Coordinator of SENET. Around 30 participants attended in the meeting, coming from academia and research field.
During the SENET Research & innovation Expert Group session, four selected experts from the EU and China were invited to share Sino-European collaborations in health research and Innovation with highlighting benefits and challenges.
Two topics related to common challenges, ways to overcome them and vision for future collaborations were discussed at a roundtable session. The experts actively shared valuable thoughts on strengthening mutual learning between the EU and China, especially in the field of digital health, global health, antimicrobial resistance and ageing issues. Concerning the cooperation with China in health, some experts believed it is important to tackle the R&D&I systems, and funding mechanisms.
SPI presented the main priorities in research and innovation under the health sector, both in Europe and China. This was built upon desk research and comparative analysis conducted in the course of the project.
