The initiative has sought to reinforce the consular services.

Portuguese consular services have answered over fifteen thousand phone calls and replied to more than nine thousand emails regarding Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU).


The ‘Brexit Line’, as the Government dubbed it, is based in Lisbon and staffed with ten operators and a supervisor offering support to the Portuguese consulates in London and Manchester.


The State Deputy for Administrative Modernisation, Luís Goes Pinheiro, said that a ‘set of measures have been adopted in order to offer solutions to those [Portuguese] communities, regardless of what happens with Brexit’.
