OLX has just released a study, based on data available on the platform, in which it analyzes the evolution of demand (contacts made to ads), supply (new and active ads) and price variation in its category of houses.

The conclusions presented examine the first five months of 2020 (until 22 May) and compare them with the same period in 2019. Following this study, the brand decided to launch an award campaign and a €5 bonus in view of all who publish a new ad in this category in order to stimulate the Tourism sector - one of the most affected by Covid-19.

OLX has launched several initiatives to help its advertisers have more visibility in their ads. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the platform has extended ad packages and offered discounts of up to 70 percent on all products.

In a phase in which restrictions are beginning to be lifted, and after registering a very significant increase in the demand for Holiday Homes, OLX launches this week another campaign in which it will give a €5 bonus to those who publish a new ad in this category. The amount will be credited to the advertisers account only after the first new ad published in the category and can be used to highlight ads. The campaign starts on 29 May and will last until 7 June.

In the comparison of the first five months of the year (until 22 May) with the same period of 2019, even considering this overwhelming increase since the beginning of the deflation, demand decreased 48 percent.

On the supply side, the category has seen an increase of 85 percent in new ads and 27 percent in active ads since the restrictions imposed by the Government began to be lifted.

Faro, Lisbon and Braga form the TOP3 of districts that stand out the most in this indicator.

Regarding the price variation, and when comparing the data for the period from January to May 2020 with the same period of the previous year, there is an increase in values ??in most regions of the country. Viana do Castelo (+13 percent), Aveiro (+9 percent) and Braga (+7 percent) are the districts that stand out the most.
