The Portuguese company Mota-Engil announced that it has signed a contract for an investment of 270 million in a hydroelectric project in Colombia, made through the local subsidiary.

The information was disclosed through a statement published on the Securities Market Commission website, the CMVM.

The contract “will have an estimated duration of 46 months and contemplates the construction of a power generation plant “, built for a vehicle company with mostly Chinese capitals, among which the ACPC (China Communications Construction Company) and CTG (China Three Gorges Corporation).

In addition to the project in Colombia, Mota-engil notes the recent signing of a contract for the construction, within 540 days, of a new section of 24 km of a road (Barranca Larga-Ventanilla) in Mexico, worth approximately 45 million euros.

These contracts reinforce the presence of portuguese construction company esa in Latin America, which, according to what was published in the communiqué, is a region that continues to “assert itself as an enhancer of the group's development”.
