This Tuesday, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa ratified the creation of the NATO Information and Communications Agency in Portugal.

Portugal’s president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on Tuesday ratified the creation of the NATO Information and Communications Agency in Portugal, according to a note published on the official website of the presidency.

 

The president welcomed the fact that the agreement that allows the creation of this important NATO centre in Portugal will finally be submitted for ratification.

 

The president ratified on Tuesday the parliamentary resolution approving the agreement supplementary to the Convention on the Status of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, National Representatives and International Staff, signed in Ottawa on 20 September 1951, between Portugal and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, on the Status of the NATO Information and Communications Agency in Portugal, the note said.
