According to a press release issued by the Agriculture Minister's office, this growth is reflected in an increase of €11 million (from €437 million to €448 million in the same period) for the total external transactions of Portuguese wine.
"In the 25 main external markets (intra or extra EU) Portugal increased its sales in 18 of these destinations around the world," reads the statement.
In non-EU markets, Portuguese producers increased their exports in this period by 6% in volume and 4% in value.
Between January and July, the Angolan market recovered, with an increase of 29% in value.
Port increased accumulated exports by 3.2% in volume and 6.3% in value, with an increase in the average price of 2.9% (from €4.65 to €4.79 euros per litre).
