The “Green Key” programme is an international award that promotes Sustainable Tourism through the recognition of tourist establishments that implement good environmental and social practices, that value environmental management in their spaces and promote education for sustainability.
Being one of the only two restaurants in the Algarve to receive this distinction, the restaurant is able to reinforce its mission of offering high quality products, largely with biological, national and seasonal certification, and in raising the awareness of employees and the community in general to be more conscious in their consumption habits.
By visiting this space, guests are helping to maximise the economic and environmental benefits of tourism in the city of Lagos.
The manager said: “The “Green Key” award requires the involvement of the entire team for this environmental management to be successful and, going further, it is something that we also want our customers to be part of. Responsible consumption of natural resources and the dishes and drinks we prepare, the entire management of our cuisine, the training of our employees, are areas that directly and indirectly impact the concept of sustainable tourism. The commitment to the environment is a social and corporate responsibility that, if done well, brings us advantages both individually and in local and national tourism”.
