Recognised as the most important and prestigious international gathering of key stakeholders and drivers in Africa’s energy sector, the forum will gather ministers and heads of utilities with the biggest investors from around the world to continue to build momentum in closing energy projects across the continent.
EnergyNet are particularly excited about "The 20th Annual Africa Energy Forum", as this year the forum will celebrate its 20th annual anniversary. To commemorate this very special year, the forum will be held in Africa for the very first time.
The exhibition and conference rooms will be purpose-built within the surroundings of the Paradis and Dinarobin Beachcomber Hotel, creating our very own Africa Energy Forum City. The theme of the forum will be Reflections on the Last 20 Years and Setting Goals and Action Points for the Next 20 Years.
The forum will bring together key figures from the past 20 years who have made significant contributions to the sector as well as showcase some of the earliest projects to reflect upon the progress that has been made, and celebrate all that the "The 20th Annual Africa Energy Forum" community has achieved over the last two decades. Looking forward, the forum will discuss solutions to challenges that are yet to be tackled, and set action points for the next 20 years.
Trade-focus sessions will also bring together partners from governmental institutions and the private sector from across the globe, including Europe, China, Japan, the Middle East and USA to provide insights into what investment opportunities they are looking for in Africa.
In 2017, the forum was held in Copenhagen and attracted over 2000 carefully selected participants, representing 77 countries. The forum welcomed 16 energy ministers and high-level government officials, together with over 100 senior-level governmental and public sector participants and over 370 speakers.
