The tabletop brand, which has U.S. office in New York, received a Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design for the Fénix Crystal Decanter, and two German Design Awards from the German Board of Design for its tableware collections Orquestra and Trace, pictured right. The Vista Alegre collections Carrara, Gárgulas, Jazz and Love Who You Want received a “Special Mention” from the German Board of Design. Additionally, Blue Ming, Plissé, Timeless, Midnight and Swinging all received nominations.
A first for Vista Alegre, the Good Design Award is a coveted accolade amongst designers, and the Fénix Crystal Decanter was selected from among thousands of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms, representing the most important and influential corporations worldwide in the design industry from more than 55 countries.
For the second year in a row, Vista Alegre has been recognized for outstanding quality and design by the German Design Awards, having won an award in 2016 for Printemps by Carsten Gollnick. This international award is recognized as one of the highest honors among the design community.
“We are extremely proud to be honored by the Chicago Athenaeum and the German Board of Design, two internationally renowned design organizations,” said Daniel Da Silva, president of Vista Alegre USA in New York. “Our team at VistaAlegre is dedicated to producing excellence in design, and receiving this recognition from the design world is a great privilege.”
