The Portuguese renewable power company Finerge Group has closed a EUR-150-million (USD 177.5m) finance round with four banks in order to acquire solar parks in Portugal and Spain.

The financing was obtained from Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc, or MUFG, and Spanish lenders BBVA SA, Banco Santander SA and Bankinter SA, Finerge CEO Pedro Norton was quoted as saying in a statement.

In 2020 alone, the renewables firm acquired 47.6 MW of Portuguese photovoltaic (PV) farms from UK fund manager Glennmont Partners and Luxembourg-based company Luxbon Solar SA. In Spain, Finerge closed 2019 with 8.1 MW of acquired solar capacity.

Overall, the company has 1,339 MW of installed solar and wind capacity, enough to generate 3,200 GWh of green power annually.
