  The North has one of the largest land areas in mainland Portugal, with an

     international land border of 568 km and a coastline of 151 km.

  The North has good infrastructures: motorways, railways, ports and air transport

    systems.

    Porto, Vila Real, and part of Aveiro, Viseu and Guarda districts. For statistical

    purposes this Region is divided into 8 NUT III, with different characteristics:

Entre Douro e Vouga

Alto Trás-os-Montes 

 

  With a rich cultural heritage combined with other diversified and modern

    resources, the North region has a strong potential for tourism development.
