EMPORDEF is the Portuguese defence holding company responsible for managing the State participations in the defence industry. Owned 100% by the Portuguese State, EMPORDEF’s strategic vision aims the sustained development of the national defence industry, having diversified its business in more than fifty countries.
The EMPORDEF’s vision and consequent strategic framework is mainly conditioned by the diversity and specificity of its four main business activities (AERONAUTICAL, NAVAL, TECHNOLOGICAL and OPERATIONAL LOCATION OF DEFENCE ASSETS), associating the fourteen participated companies of the Group. It is an active partner of the Defence Ministry for what concerns new defence capabilities programs and military upgrade programs.
For the Aeronautical sector, the EMPORDEF Group offers a set of integrated solutions to the civilian and military branches. The most important firms related with this sector are: OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal, EDISOFT – Empresa de Serviços e Desenvolvimento de Software, EID – Empresa de Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Electrónico and ETI – Empordef Tecnologias de Informação.
